(1) No formal pleadings other than the claim and notice, and the counterclaim and notice, if appropriate, shall be required in the division.
(2) All forms provided in KRS § 24A.200 to KRS § 24A.360 shall be of a simplified, nontechnical form.
(3) There shall be no pretrial discovery in the small claims division of the District
Court.

Terms Used In Kentucky Statutes 24A.300
- Counterclaim: A claim that a defendant makes against a plaintiff.
- Discovery: Lawyers' examination, before trial, of facts and documents in possession of the opponents to help the lawyers prepare for trial.
- Pleadings: Written statements of the parties in a civil case of their positions. In the federal courts, the principal pleadings are the complaint and the answer.
(3) There shall be no pretrial discovery in the small claims division of the District
Court.
