Kentucky Statutes 257.070 – Animals to be imported according to regulations

(1) The movement of domestic animals from other states into this state shall be made only in compliance with regulations of the board.
(2) Any animal brought into this state in violation of any regulation of the board shall: (a) Be placed in quarantine until the necessary inspection or test has been
completed by a representative or agent of the board. All expenses incident to
the quarantine, including the inspection and testing, shall be borne by the owner; or
(b) Be removed from the state at the direction of the state veterinarian.

- Domestic: when applied to a corporation, partnership, business trust, or limited liability company, means all those incorporated or formed by authority of this state. See Kentucky Statutes 446.010
- Owner: means any person owning or leasing from another, or having in charge any domestic animal. See Kentucky Statutes 257.010
- State: when applied to a part of the United States, includes territories, outlying possessions, and the District of Columbia. See Kentucky Statutes 446.010
