A medical laboratory license shall be valid for the calendar year for which it is issued. The cabinet shall promulgate administrative regulations to establish fees, not to exceed the administrative costs to the program, for the initial application for a license and license renewal. The license shall be renewable upon expiration and reapplication accompanied by the annual renewal fee. Fees collected by the cabinet shall be deposited in the State Treasury and credited to a revolving fund account for the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this chapter. The balance of said account shall lapse to the general fund at the end of each biennium.

Terms Used In Kentucky Statutes 333.070

  • Biennium: means the two (2) year period commencing on July 1 in each even- numbered year and ending on June 30 in the ensuing even-numbered year. See Kentucky Statutes 446.010
  • Cabinet: means the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. See Kentucky Statutes 333.020
  • Medical laboratory: means any institution, building, place, or any other facility in which operations and procedures for the microbiological, serological, chemical, hematological, immunohematological, biophysical, cytological, pathological, or other methods of examination of tissues including blood, secretions, and excretions of the human body are performed to obtain information in diagnosing, preventing, or treating disease, or in which the results of any examination, determination, or test are used as a basis for health advice.   • State: when applied to a part of the United States, includes territories, outlying possessions, and the District of Columbia. See Kentucky Statutes 446.010
  • Year: means calendar year. See Kentucky Statutes 446.010
