Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 12:1161
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
- person: includes a body of persons, whether incorporated or not. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 1:10
- Professional veterinary medicine corporation: means a corporation organized pursuant to this Chapter for the practice of veterinary medicine. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 12:1151
A. Only voting shareholders, or voting shareholders of another professional veterinary medicine corporation, may be officers. If there is only one voting shareholder, all officers may be combined in his person. The office or offices held by an officer shall become vacant if he ceases to be a voting shareholder.
B. Only natural persons duly licensed to practice veterinary medicine in this state may render medical services on behalf of a professional veterinary medicine corporation.
