Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 17:3974
- Charter school: means an independent public school that provides a program of elementary or secondary education, or both, established pursuant to and in accordance with the provisions of this Chapter to provide a learning environment that will improve pupil achievement. - Nolo contendere: No contest-has the same effect as a plea of guilty, as far as the criminal sentence is concerned, but may not be considered as an admission of guilt for any other purpose.
- person: includes a body of persons, whether incorporated or not. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 1:10
No person who has been convicted of or has pled nolo contendere to a crime listed in La. Rev. Stat. 15:587.1(C) shall be hired by a charter school as a teacher, substitute teacher, bus operator, substitute bus operator, or janitor, or as a temporary, part-time, or permanent school employee of any kind.
