- Commissioner: means the Commissioner of Conservation of the State of Louisiana. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 30:3
- Equitable: Pertaining to civil suits in "equity" rather than in "law." In English legal history, the courts of "law" could order the payment of damages and could afford no other remedy. See damages. A separate court of "equity" could order someone to do something or to cease to do something. See, e.g., injunction. In American jurisprudence, the federal courts have both legal and equitable power, but the distinction is still an important one. - Gas: means all natural gas, including casinghead gas, and all other hydrocarbons not defined as oil in Paragraph (7) of this Section. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 30:3
All gas produced from the deposits of this state when sold shall be measured by meter and the commissioner of conservation shall, upon notice and hearing, relieve any common purchaser from purchasing gas of an inferior quality or grade, and the commissioner shall from time to time make such regulations for delivery, metering and equitable purchase and taking as conditions may necessitate.
