Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 33:447.12

  • Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.

Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the mayor of the town of Mansura may impose court costs not to exceed eighty-five dollars for each offense, as defined by ordinance, on any defendant convicted of a violation of a municipal ordinance.  The court costs authorized by this Section shall be in addition to the court costs authorized by La. Rev. Stat. 33:441.
