Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:771
- Custodian: means a person so designated under Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:751
- State: includes any state of the United States, the District of Columbia, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and any territory or possession subject to the legislative authority of the United States. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:751
- Transfer: means a transaction that creates custodial property under Louisiana Revised Statutes 9:751
This Subpart applies to a transfer within the scope of La. Rev. Stat. 9:752 made after its effective date if either of the following occur:
(1) The transfer purports to have been made under the Louisiana Gifts to Minors Act.
(2) The instrument by which the transfer purports to have been made uses in substance the designation “as custodian under the Uniform Gifts to Minors Act” or “as custodian under the Uniform Transfers to Minors Act” of any other state, and the application of this Subpart is necessary to validate the transfer.
