Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 11:1869

  • Employee: means a person including an elected official, actively employed by a participating employer on a permanent, regularly scheduled basis of at least an average of thirty-five hours per week. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 11:1732

            Notwithstanding any provision of law to the contrary, the city of Mandeville, at its discretion, may pay to the system, from its own funds, all or a portion of the employee contributions referenced in this Chapter and take appropriate legal and administrative action to otherwise be in compliance with local, state, and federal laws. The payments authorized pursuant to this Section shall become effective thirty days after a favorable vote of the governing authority authorizing the use of additional public funds that would otherwise be deducted from employees’ salaries.
