Louisiana Revised Statutes 11:828 – Deduction of employee benefit contributions from retiree benefit checks
Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 11:828
- Member: means any teacher included in the membership of the system as provided in Part II of this Chapter. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 11:701
- Retirement: means withdrawal from active service with a retirement allowance granted under the provisions of this Chapter. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 11:701
Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, the employee contributions for accident and health and life insurance coverage to be paid by any member, retiree, beneficiary, or survivor participating in the Office of Group Benefits programs pursuant to La. Rev. Stat. 42:801 et seq., who receives a recurring benefit payment from this system shall be deducted from the retirement benefit payment. Such deductions shall be effected by the use of computer tapes prepared and furnished by the Office of Group Benefits in a form processible by the computer facility that prepares the monthly benefit payment. This system shall remit such deductions directly to the Office of Group Benefits.
