Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 12:1-201

  • Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.

One or more persons capable of contracting may act as the incorporator or incorporators of a corporation by delivering to the secretary of state for filing articles of incorporation and the written consent of the registered agent required by La. Rev. Stat. 12:1-202(E).
