At the expiration of his term of office, the clerk shall pay into the parish treasury any balance in the clerk’s salary fund which exceeds one-half of the revenues of the last year of the term, which amount shall be limited to no more than that which was received by the clerk in accordance with La. Rev. Stat. 13:784(A) during said term  of office.  The amount retained in the clerk’s salary fund shall be turned over to the incoming clerk as a revolving fund to assist in financing the operation of the clerk’s office.
