Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 14:388

  • Affidavit: A written statement of facts confirmed by the oath of the party making it, before a notary or officer having authority to administer oaths.
  • Oath: A promise to tell the truth.

Any false statement under oath contained in the affidavit required by La. Rev. Stat. 14:386 filed with the secretary of state shall constitute perjury and shall be punished as provided by La. Rev. Stat. 14:123.
