A substitute teacher appointed under the provisions of La. Rev. Stat. 17:1216 shall not acquire any of the tenure rights or privileges provided for in La. Rev. Stat. 17:441 through La. Rev. Stat. 17:444 or in La. Rev. Stat. 17:461 through La. Rev. Stat. 17:463, unless the substitute teacher has subsequently been appointed to fill a regular vacancy and has the necessary qualifications.
