Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 17:3399.37

  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
  • Student: means any person who is enrolled on a full-time or part-time basis in a public postsecondary education institution. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 17:3399.31

            Each postsecondary public education management board shall adopt policies to implement the provisions of this Part. Nothing in this Part shall be construed to prevent institutions from regulating student speech or activity that is prohibited by law. Except as further limited by this Part, institutions may restrict student expression only for expressive activity not protected by the First Amendment of the Constitution of the United States of America and La. Const. Art. I, § 7 and other applicable laws.
