Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 18:1288

  • Affidavit: A written statement of facts confirmed by the oath of the party making it, before a notary or officer having authority to administer oaths.
  • Oath: A promise to tell the truth.

Commissioners-in-charge and commissioners shall take the oath or affirmation as provided by La. Rev. Stat. 18:424 and La. Rev. Stat. 18:425.  A commissioner may administer any oath and receive any affidavit provided for in this Chapter.
