Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 2:133

  • Lease: A contract transferring the use of property or occupancy of land, space, structures, or equipment in consideration of a payment (e.g., rent). Source: OCC
  • Political subdivision: as used in this Part means any parish of this state as well as any city or county of another adjoining or adjacent state which is authorized by the law of that state to engage in a joint endeavor for the creation and operation of an airport district with a political subdivision of this state. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 2:131

Private property needed by a city, town, or other political subdivision for an airport or landing field or for the expansion of an airport or landing field or for extension of runways may be acquired by grant, purchase, lease, or other means, if such political subdivision is able to agree with the owners of said property on the terms of such acquisition, and otherwise by expropriation.
