- Licensee: means any person licensed, authorized to operate, or registered or required to be licensed, authorized, or registered pursuant to the insurance laws of this state. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 22:2503
A. The commissioner may examine and investigate into the affairs of any licensee to determine whether the licensee has been or is engaged in any conduct in violation of this Chapter. This power is in addition to the powers which the commissioner has pursuant to La. Rev. Stat. 22:1981, 1983, and 1984. Any investigation or examination shall be conducted pursuant to La. Rev. Stat. 22:1983 and 1984.
B. Whenever the commissioner has reason to believe that a licensee has been or is engaged in conduct in this state which violates this Chapter, the commissioner may take any action that is necessary or appropriate to enforce the provisions of this Chapter.
