Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 25:380.151

  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

            A. The Germantown Colony Museum is established as a facility in the parish of Webster, under the overall jurisdiction of the Department of State as more specifically provided in this Chapter and in La. Rev. Stat. 36:744(F).

            B. The Germantown Colony Museum shall be a historical, cultural, scientific, and technological educational institution whose primary purpose shall be to research, collect, preserve, and present, as an educational resource, the pictures and photographs, documents, artifacts, objects of art, and the like that reflect the social, cultural, and economic history and development of the Germantown Colony, the city of Minden, Webster Parish, and northwest Louisiana.
