Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 27:16
- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
The chairman of the board may:
(1) Enter into contracts not to exceed twenty thousand dollars on behalf of the board.
(2) Represent the board in any matter.
(3) Make recommendations to the board on any matter within its jurisdiction.
