Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 3:3113
- Commissioner: means the commissioner of agriculture and forestry or his duly authorized representative acting at his direction. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 3:3112
- Ratite: means a flightless bird with a flat chestbone of the order Ratitae including but not limited to ostrich (Struthio camelus), rhea (Rhea americana), emu (Dromaius novaehollandiae), and cassowary (Casuarius). See Louisiana Revised Statutes 3:3112
A. The provisions of this Part shall be administered by the commissioner of agriculture and forestry through the office of animal health and food safety.
B. The commissioner shall adopt such rules and regulations as are necessary to implement the provisions of this Part or to administer the ratite program.
C. The commissioner may employ such personnel as is necessary to administer the provisions of this Part.
