Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 30:575.2

  • Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
  • Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
  • Gas: means any gas derived from or composed of hydrocarbons, including synthetic gas which is produced from coal, lignite, or petroleum coke and the heat content of which synthetic gas does not exceed 800 BTUs per standard cubic foot. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 30:503

If a contract for the sale of intrastate natural gas existing on December 8, 1973 is thereafter amended in any respect, such amendment or amendments shall not subject such contracts to any greater degree of curtailment than if such contracts had not been amended subsequent to December 8, 1973, unless the effect of such amendment or amendments is to increase the volume of intrastate natural gas contracted to be delivered to the purchaser under such contract.  If any such amendment has the effect of increasing the volume of intrastate natural gas to be delivered to the purchaser under the contract, the provisions of La. Rev. Stat. 30:575.1 shall continue to apply to the volume of gas contracted for as of December 8, 1973, and shall continue to apply until the volume of gas contracted for as of December 8, 1973, has been delivered but shall not apply to the amount by which the volume of gas is increased over that volume.
