Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 33:9667

  • agency: means any political subdivision, including any parish, municipality, school board, or special district, and any other unit of local government and any department, office, agency, board, commission, district, governing authority, committee, subcommittee, advisory board, task force, or other instrumentality of a political subdivision or other unit of local government.   • Ethics board: means the ethics body which has jurisdiction over elected officials under Chapter 15 of Title 42 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 33:9662
  • Lobbyist: means any person who acts in a representative capacity and makes an expenditure in excess of five hundred dollars in the aggregate within the calendar year. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 33:9662

The ethics board, in performance of its duties under this Chapter, shall:

(1)  Register lobbyists and assign lobbyist registration numbers as required by this Chapter.

(2)  Issue to each registered lobbyist at the time of initial registration a copy of this Chapter and any rules adopted pursuant to this Chapter.

(3)  Promulgate all rules and forms necessary for the implementation and administration of this Chapter, including but not limited to rules and forms to prescribe the level of organizational unit or units of a local government agency for which expenditures required to be reported pursuant to this Chapter shall be aggregated.

(4)  Establish and maintain access to a searchable, electronic database available to the public via the Internet.
