Louisiana Revised Statutes 35:411 – Ex officio notaries public for the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority

- Ex officio: Literally, by virtue of one's office.
A. The executive director of the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority may designate as ex officio notaries public up to five employees of the office.
B. Employees so designated may administer oaths, take acknowledgments, and attest on affidavits, and the authority granted under this Section is limited to acts and instruments to which the authority, the executive director acting for the authority, or the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority Board, is a party, and other documents concerning any matter in which the authority or the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority Board has an official interest.
C. All acts performed by such ex officio notary public authorized by this Section shall be performed without charge or other compensation and without the necessity of giving bond.
D. The executive director may suspend or terminate any appointment made pursuant to this Section at any time, and separation from the employ of the office shall automatically terminate the powers of such an ex officio notary public.
E. The cost of each notarial seal shall be paid by the Coastal Protection and Restoration Authority.
