Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 49:73
- Lobbyist: means any person who acts in a representative capacity and makes an expenditure. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 49:72
- official: means an elected official, an appointed official, or an employee in an executive branch agency. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 49:72
Except as otherwise provided in this Part relative to a principal or employer of a lobbyist, the provisions of this Part shall apply only to persons who are lobbyists as defined in La. Rev. Stat. 49:72. The provisions of this Part shall not apply to an elected or appointed public official or any designee of such an official, when such designee is a public employee and when such elected or appointed official or public employee is acting in the performance of his or her official public duties.
