Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 56:1741

  • Public law: A public bill or joint resolution that has passed both chambers and been enacted into law. Public laws have general applicability nationwide.

The secretary of the Department of Culture, Recreation and Tourism, the secretary of the Department of Wildlife and Fisheries, and the governing authority of each political subdivision of the state of Louisiana are hereby authorized to cooperate and jointly participate in projects with the United States Army Corps of Engineers and any other federal agency for the purpose of the development of outdoor recreation and fish and wildlife enhancement as authorized by the Federal Water Project Recreation Act, Public Law 89-72, 1965;1 provided, that the authority granted herein also shall extend to the development and maintenance of projects for the development of outdoor recreation and fish and wildlife enhancement, or any part thereof, which may be executed by the participating state agency or political subdivision through a third-party concessionaire agreement.  The authority herein granted shall be exercised in any individual project only after the approval of the project by the governor.
