Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 6:969.24

  • Consumer: means a natural person who enters into a consumer loan or consumer credit sale of a motor vehicle to be used primarily for personal, family, or household purposes. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 6:969.6
  • Finance charge: The total cost of credit a customer must pay on a consumer loan, including interest. The Truth in Lending Act requires disclosure of the finance charge. Source: OCC

An extender of credit shall not divide a consumer loan into multiple agreements for the purpose of obtaining a higher loan finance charge than would otherwise be permitted.
