A person who serves as the secretary of state, a filing officer, or as any of their respective officers, deputies, or employees shall not be individually liable for damages caused by any error, act, or omission in the performance of the duties provided in La. Rev. Stat. 10:9-101, et seq., except for grossly negligent acts or omissions or acts of willful or wanton misconduct.
