- Adult-use consumable hemp product: means any consumable hemp product that contains more than 0. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 3:1481
- agency: shall include any board or commission to which the governor appoints at least a majority of the membership of the board or commission. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 49:72
- Appellate: About appeals; an appellate court has the power to review the judgement of another lower court or tribunal.
- Commissioner: means the commissioner of the office of alcohol and tobacco control. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 3:1481
- Consumable hemp processor: means any individual, partnership, corporation, cooperative association, or other business entity that receives industrial hemp for the manufacturing or processing of a consumable hemp product. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 3:1481
- Consumable hemp product: means any product derived from industrial hemp that contains any cannabinoid, including cannabidiol, and is intended for consumption or topical use. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 3:1481
- Department: means the Louisiana Department of Health. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 3:1481
- Ethics board: means the ethics body which has jurisdiction over elected officials under Chapter 15 of Title 42 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 49:72
- Executive branch action: means any act by an executive branch agency or official to effectuate the public powers, functions, and duties of an executive branch official or an executive branch agency, including but not limited to any act in the nature of policymaking, rulemaking, adjudication, licensing, regulation, or enforcement; relative to contracts, requests for proposals, development of specifications, or engaging another person to perform a governmental function; to formulate, adopt, amend, or repeal any rule, as that term is defined in Louisiana Revised Statutes 49:72
- Expenditure: means the gift or payment of money or any thing of value for the purchase of food, drink, or refreshment for an executive branch official or for the spouse or minor child of an executive branch official and any gift or payment permitted by Louisiana Revised Statutes 49:72
- Gift: A voluntary transfer or conveyance of property without consideration, or for less than full and adequate consideration based on fair market value.

- Package: means a container or wrapping in which any consumer commodity is enclosed for the purpose of delivery or display of that commodity to retail purchasers and contains one or more servings. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 3:1481
- Person: means an individual or any legal or commercial entity, including a corporation, business trust, partnership, limited liability company, association, or joint venture. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 3:1
- Person: means an individual, partnership, committee, association, corporation, and any other organization or group of persons. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 49:72
- Place of business: means a permanent location or a portion of a permanent location from which business, in a regulated profession or occupation, is transacted. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 3:1
- Precedent: A court decision in an earlier case with facts and law similar to a dispute currently before a court. Precedent will ordinarily govern the decision of a later similar case, unless a party can show that it was wrongly decided or that it differed in some significant way.
- Presiding officer: A majority-party Senator who presides over the Senate and is charged with maintaining order and decorum, recognizing Members to speak, and interpreting the Senate's rules, practices and precedents.
- Remainder: An interest in property that takes effect in the future at a specified time or after the occurrence of some event, such as the death of a life tenant.
- Remote retailer: means a person or entity who offers any consumable hemp product for sale at retail, or for any transaction of products in lieu of a sale, through a digital application, catalog, or the internet, that can be purchased and delivered directly to a consumer in Louisiana. - sale at retail: means the sale or any transaction in lieu of a sale of products to the public for use or consumption but does not include the sale or any transaction in lieu of a sale of products for resale. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 3:1481
- Serving: means the total amount of individual units or amount of liquid of a product recommended by the manufacturer to be consumed at a single time. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 3:1481
- State plan: means a plan required for approval by the United States Secretary of Agriculture to monitor and regulate the production of hemp. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 3:1481
- Statute: A law passed by a legislature.
- THC: means a combination of tetrahydrocannabinol and tetrahydrocannabinolic acid. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 3:1481
- Wholesaler: means a wholesale seller, distributor, or packer of consumable hemp products. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 3:1481
