Notwithstanding any other provisions of law to the contrary, benefits paid to the widows of justices and judges under authority of La. Rev. Stat. 11:552(A) or under authority of any other law of this state enacted prior to October 1, 1976, shall not be curtailed by reason of remarriage if the widow had been married to the justice or judge for at least twenty-five years; and any such benefits for any such widow which have been curtailed by reason of remarriage shall be resumed, but without any retroactive effect.
