Except as otherwise provided by La. Rev. Stat. 13:2585, the governing authorities of the various parishes are authorized to fix and designate the official domicile of justice of the peace courts within their respective parishes. The failure of any justice of the peace to abide by the will of the governing authority of the parish in this respect automatically vacates the office, which shall be filled by the governor by appointment.
