- Mortgage: The written agreement pledging property to a creditor as collateral for a loan.
The registry of a decree as provided in La. Rev. Stat. 13:4434 shall operate as a judicial mortgage, or as a recognition of title, or otherwise, according to the terms of the decree, and shall continue to have that effect unless set aside or modified by the final decree in the proceeding.
