Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 15:1179
- Clerk of court: An officer appointed by the court to work with the chief judge in overseeing the court's administration, especially to assist in managing the flow of cases through the court and to maintain court records.
- Service of process: The service of writs or summonses to the appropriate party.
The clerk of court shall not order service of process with respect to any petition filed under the provisions of La. Rev. Stat. 15:1177 until the petition has been reviewed by the court and has been found to state a cognizable claim.
