Louisiana Revised Statutes 3:143 – Associations heretofore organized may adopt these provisions
Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 3:143
- Amendment: A proposal to alter the text of a pending bill or other measure by striking out some of it, by inserting new language, or both. Before an amendment becomes part of the measure, thelegislature must agree to it.
- Association: means any association organized under this Part; and,
(4) "Person" includes individuals, firms, partnerships, corporations, and associations. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 3:122
- Corporation: A legal entity owned by the holders of shares of stock that have been issued, and that can own, receive, and transfer property, and carry on business in its own name.
Any corporation or association organized under previously existing statutes may by a majority vote of its directors or members, be brought under the provisions of this Part. It shall make out in duplicate a statement signed and sworn to by a majority of its directors, to the effect that the corporation or association has by a majority vote of its directors decided to accept the benefits and be bound by the provisions of this Part. Articles of association shall be filed as required in La. Rev. Stat. 3:127 except that they shall be signed by a majority of the members of the board of directors. The filing fee shall be the same as for filing an amendment to articles of association.
