Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 3:3605

  • Agricultural operation: means any agricultural facility or agricultural land which is being used for agricultural production or agricultural processing and includes any facility used for the production and processing of crops or products thereof, livestock or products thereof, farm-raised fish and fish products, wood, timber or forest products, fowl or plants for breeding or sales, and poultry or poultry products for commercial or industrial purposes.   • Defendant: In a civil suit, the person complained against; in a criminal case, the person accused of the crime.

If the court determines that any action alleging that an agricultural operation is a nuisance is frivolous, the court may award costs of court, reasonable attorney fees, and any other related costs to the defendant.
