Louisiana Revised Statutes 32:403.2 – Application of persons with physical disability or mental disability
Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 32:403.2
- Department: means the Department of Public Safety and Corrections. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 32:401
- Motor vehicle: means and includes automobiles, trucks, truck-tractors, trailers, semitrailers, and motorcycles, propelled by steam, gasoline, electricity, or any other source of energy other than muscular power, except electric-assisted bicycles, farm implements temporarily operated or moved on a highway or vehicles operated only on rails or tracks constructed therefor. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 32:401
- person: includes a body of persons, whether incorporated or not. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 1:10
Every person with a physical or mental disability applying for a license under the provisions of this Chapter for the first time shall attach to his application a detailed medical report, or a report from an optometrist if it is a visual defect, from a duly licensed physician indicating the severity of his disability and the limitations imposed thereby which might impair the applicant’s ability to exercise ordinary and reasonable control in the operation of a motor vehicle. The department may waive the furnishing of the report by any person applying for a renewal license under the provisions of this Chapter, except for a person subject to the provisions of La. Rev. Stat. 32:403.4.
