Louisiana Revised Statutes 32:414.5 – Information falsified by aliens; cancellation of drivers’ licenses and special identification cards
Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 32:414.5
- Arrest: Taking physical custody of a person by lawful authority.
- Cancellation: means that a driver's license is annulled because of some error or defect or because the licensee is no longer entitled to such license, but the cancellation of a license is without prejudice and application for a new license may be made at any time after such cancellation. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 32:401
- person: includes a body of persons, whether incorporated or not. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 1:10
A. The driver’s license or special identification card of an alien student or nonresident alien shall be canceled if the alien has falsified any information required in La. Rev. Stat. 32:409.1 for the purposes of obtaining a driver’s license or a special identification card from the office of motor vehicles. The secretary shall notify the person who is the subject of the notice at that person’s last known address.
B. When a law enforcement officer places a person under arrest and seizes the driver’s license or the special identification card in accordance with La. Rev. Stat. 14:100.13(B), the driver’s license or special identification card shall be surrendered to the office of motor vehicles for cancellation.
