Louisiana Revised Statutes 36:53 – Transfer of boards, commissions, departments, and agencies to Department of State Civil Service
Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 36:53
- Office: means each principal operational unit within a department, except the executive office of the secretary. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 36:3
A. The following agencies are hereby placed within the Department of State Civil Service in accordance with the provisions of La. Rev. Stat. 36:801:
(1) State examiner of municipal fire and police civil service and office of the state examiner of municipal fire and police civil service (Parts II and III of Chapter 5 of Title 33 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes of 1950).
(2) Board of Ethics (La. Rev. Stat. 42:1101 et seq.). The State Civil Service Commission and the Department of State Civil Service and its director shall in no way interfere with, review, or change the decisions of the Board of Ethics.
(3) Division of administrative law (La. Rev. Stat. 49:991 et seq.).
B. The following agencies are hereby placed within the Department of State Civil Service in accordance with the provisions of La. Rev. Stat. 36:801.1:
(1) State Police Service (Article X, Sections 41 through 51 of the Constitution of Louisiana).
(2) Board of Tax Appeals (La. Rev. Stat. 47:1401 et seq.). The State Civil Service Commission, the Department of State Civil Service, and its director shall in no way interfere with, review, or change the decisions or operations of the Board of Tax Appeals. There shall be a Local Tax Division of the Board of Tax Appeals.
C. For purposes of this Chapter, references in Chapters 22 and 24 of this Title to the “secretary”, the “undersecretary”, or an “assistant secretary” shall be construed to mean the State Civil Service Commission, through the director.
