Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:2665

  • Board: means the Louisiana Board of Examiners for Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:2651
  • Conviction: A judgement of guilt against a criminal defendant.
  • Injunction: An order of the court prohibiting (or compelling) the performance of a specific act to prevent irreparable damage or injury.

A.  Whoever violates this Chapter shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and, upon conviction, shall be punished by imprisonment for not more than six months or by fine or both, and each violation shall be considered a separate offense.

B.  The board may enforce this Chapter by injunction or by any other appropriate proceeding.  No such proceeding shall be barred by any proceeding had or pending pursuant to La. Rev. Stat. 37:2662, or by the imposition of any fine or term of imprisonment pursuant thereto.
