Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:3134

  • Auction: includes but is not limited to all of the following:

                (i) Live auctions. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:3103

  • Board: means the Louisiana Auctioneers Licensing Board created in this Chapter. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:3103
  • Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.

            The provisions of this Chapter shall not apply to and the board shall not have jurisdiction over auctioneers who are engaged in the auction business exclusively as an employee or agent of a Louisiana livestock market which is regulated by the Louisiana Board of Animal Health and who are registered with that board as required by La. Rev. Stat. 3:571.
