Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:3159
- Board: means the Board of Certification and Training for solid waste disposal system operators. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:3151
- Certificate: means the document or documents issued by the board which attest to the competency of the operator. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:3151
- Certification: means the process or act whereby an operator meets the requirements for obtaining a certificate of competency. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:3151
- Continuing training: means the process whereby a certified operator obtains required formal training in the area of solid waste management. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:3151
- Operator: means any person employed in responsible charge of operating all or a portion of a solid waste disposal system. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:3151
A. Certificates shall be either regular or conditional. A regular certificate shall allow an operator to operate any facility or system of the type for which the certificate is issued. A conditional certificate shall allow an operator to operate only the facility or system at which he is employed at the time of certification.
B. Operator certificates shall be valid for a period of four years. Recertification of an operator shall not be granted unless the operator has obtained continuing training as provided for by this Chapter.
C. Certification shall continue in effect as long as renewal fees are paid, continuing training requirements are met, and the certificate is not suspended or revoked by the board.
