Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:3562
- Appropriation: The provision of funds, through an annual appropriations act or a permanent law, for federal agencies to make payments out of the Treasury for specified purposes. The formal federal spending process consists of two sequential steps: authorization
- Board: means the Louisiana Board of Massage Therapy. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:3552
- Fiscal year: The fiscal year is the accounting period for the government. For the federal government, this begins on October 1 and ends on September 30. The fiscal year is designated by the calendar year in which it ends; for example, fiscal year 2006 begins on October 1, 2005 and ends on September 30, 2006.
- Massage therapist: means a person who engages in the practice of massage therapy for compensation. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 37:3552
A. The board shall assess and collect fees as provided in this Section, including the following fees:
(1) Application fee $ 75.00
(2) Original massage therapist license fee $125.00
(3) Annual license renewal fee $125.00
(4) Annual license renewal (late fee) $100.00
(5) Original certificate of registration as a
massage establishment fee $100.00
(6) Annual certificate of registration as a
massage establishment renewal fee $100.00
(7) Annual certificate of registration
renewal, late fee $100.00
(8) Repealed by Acts 2021, No. 324, §3, eff. June 14, 2021.
(9) Directory fee $ 50.00
(10) Duplicate license $ 25.00
(11) Returned check fee $ 25.00
(12) Copy fee, per page, plus postage and handling $ .25
(13) Copies of statutes, rules, and regulations $ 15.00
(14) Continuing education provider biennial fee $100.00
(15) Continuing education program approval fee $ 50.00
B. Repealed by Acts 2021, No. 324, §3, eff. June 14, 2021.
C. The fees established in this Section shall not be refundable except under such conditions as the board may establish.
D. All monies received by the board under this Chapter shall be paid into the treasury of the Louisiana Board of Massage Therapy and may be deposited into an account maintained by the board without appropriation for costs of administration and other expenses, and any surplus at the end of a fiscal year or a biennium may be retained by the board for future expenditures and the board is not required to pay such surplus into the general fund of the state of Louisiana.
E. All funds received and expended by the board shall be audited annually in accordance with La. Rev. Stat. 24:513. The annual audit shall be submitted annually to the Joint Legislative Committee on the Budget.
