Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:1384
- Division: means the division of state police in the Department of Public Safety and Corrections. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:1372
- Employee: means any employee of the division of state police in the Department of Public Safety and Corrections. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:1372
- person: includes a body of persons, whether incorporated or not. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 1:10
- Police employee: means any employee who is assigned to police work as a peace officer pursuant to Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:1372
Any person having charge of a jail or other place of detention shall, provided sufficient facilities are available, receive any prisoner arrested by a police employee of the division and shall detain him in custody until otherwise ordered by a court, by the department, or by the police employee from whom the prisoner was received.
Whoever violates this Section shall be fined not more than twenty-five dollars or imprisoned for not more than thirty days, or both.
