Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:1386
- Contract: A legal written agreement that becomes binding when signed.
- Division: means the division of state police in the Department of Public Safety and Corrections. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:1372
The police employees of the division shall not be used or called upon for service within any municipality in any industrial dispute unless actual violence has occurred therein or the threat of violence exists and then only by order of the superintendent of state police. It shall be the duty of the superintendent of state police to notify the chief executive officer of the municipality wherein the dispute has occurred or, if unavailable, the highest ranking municipal law enforcement official available, of the issuance of the order prior to the execution thereof. The provisions of this Section do not apply in the case of a municipality which has elected to operate under a contract pursuant to La. Rev. Stat. 40:1388.
