Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:996.2
- Controlled dangerous substance: means any substance defined, enumerated, or included in federal or state statute or regulations, Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:961
- Secretary: means the secretary of the Louisiana Department of Health or his successor. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 40:961
For the purposes of La. Rev. Stat. 40:996.1 through 996.7, the following terms shall have the following meanings:
(1) “Dangerous substance” means a substance which is not otherwise listed as a controlled dangerous substance and has been determined to be an imminent hazard to the public health, safety, and welfare by the secretary using the criteria and standards prescribed in La. Rev. Stat. 40:996.3.
(2) “Dangerous substance stop order” is a rule adopted by the Louisiana Department of Health pursuant to the provisions of La. Rev. Stat. 40:996.3 and 996.4, declaring that a substance is a dangerous substance which shall not be sold, distributed, manufactured, or dispensed.
