Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 46:1403.1

  • Child: means a person who has not reached age eighteen or otherwise been legally emancipated. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 46:1403
  • Residential home: means any place, facility, or home operated by any institution, society, agency, corporation, person or persons, or any other group to provide full-time care, twenty-four hours per day, for more than four children, who may remain at the facility in accordance with Louisiana Revised Statutes 46:1403

            Notwithstanding any other provision of law to the contrary, a child housed at a residential home, transitional placing program, or in foster care may stay at such home, transitional placing program, or in foster care until his twenty-first birthday while participating in the extended foster care program set forth in La. Rev. Stat. 46:288.1 et seq., or any other program offered by the residential home.
