Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 6:1354

  • Damages: Money paid by defendants to successful plaintiffs in civil cases to compensate the plaintiffs for their injuries.
  • person: includes a body of persons, whether incorporated or not. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 1:10

Any person who unsuccessfully attempts to impose a greater standard of responsibility or liability than that provided by this Chapter shall be liable for attorney fees incurred in the defense of such attempt and for damages, whether foreseeable or not.
