Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 6:895
- Association: means a savings association, thrift institution, homestead, building and loan association, savings and loan association, or society, including both capital stock and mutual associations. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 6:703
- Commissioner: means the commissioner of financial institutions, of the state of Louisiana, in his capacity as supervisor of associations. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 6:703
- person: includes a body of persons, whether incorporated or not. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 1:10
Any person acting for himself or as the agent or representative of any person who does business, solicits, or attempts to do business in this state for any foreign association or their agents that has not procured certificates of authority and public necessity from the commissioner shall be fined not less than one thousand dollars nor more than three thousand dollars, or shall be imprisoned for not less than three months nor more than six months, or both.
