Terms Used In Louisiana Revised Statutes 8:502.3

  • Cemetery: means a place used or intended to be used for the interment of the human dead and, to the extent allowed in accordance with this Title, pet remains. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 8:1
  • Person: means an individual, corporation, limited liability company, partnership, joint venture, association, trust, or any other legal entity. See Louisiana Revised Statutes 8:1
  • Writ: A formal written command, issued from the court, requiring the performance of a specific act.

Except as otherwise provided in this Chapter, the principal of the trust fund and all income therefrom shall be exempt from seizure, under any writ, mandate, or process whatsoever, by the creditors of the beneficiaries, the trustee, the cemetery authority, or any person or other entity providing cemetery merchandise or services for which the trust fund was created.
