- Jurisdiction: (1) The legal authority of a court to hear and decide a case. Concurrent jurisdiction exists when two courts have simultaneous responsibility for the same case. (2) The geographic area over which the court has authority to decide cases.
The procedures provided in La. Rev. Stat. 9:4251(C) and (D), 4253(C), 4254, 4256(C), and 4274(B) shall be performed by a state or federal district court in this state with jurisdiction over civil actions in which the arbitral tribunal sits.
